Short description:
Day 1:
At 8:30 am, after your own breakfast, you should be at the
Luangnamtha Tour Service Office for preparing your things.
At 9:00 am, a Tuk Tuk will leave from the Luangnamtha-Tour-Service office to the
Khmu Kheon village, called “Chaleurnsouk village”. The Tuk Tuk tour will take about twenty minutes. Once you arrive at the village, another guide from the village will join your tour. The tuk tuk will continue for another five minutes to the place where you will start walking.
The trek leads up the mountain and deep into the
Namha Protected Area. You will be able to see upland agricultural fields of Akha people, who stay in the Namha Protected Area, and many different kinds of
NTFP’s (Non Timber Forest Products). Your guide will share his experience about traditional medicine with you. After about 2.5 hours, you will stop for having a traditional lunch along the walking path in the forest.
After lunch, you will continue for another 2.5 hours. During the way you will have an
excellent view of the landscape of the NamHa Protected Area. After arriving in the
Akha village, called “Phouvarn Village”, you finish the first day of your trek.
While your local hosts preparing your dinner, you can walk around the village to see the
villager’s daily life and learn from the villagers.
After dinner, you will receive an
Akha ethnic massage by Ahka women, which is traditionally given to guests, staying overnight in their village.
Day 2:
After enjoying the traditional Akha breakfast, at around 9:30 am, you first start walking up and down through some upland agricultural fields of the Phouvarn villagers. Later on, you will walk through some primary forest. After around 3 hours of walking, you will stop for having a nice Akha ethnic lunch in the forest.
You will finish your trek after another 3 exiting hours, walking through nice natural landscapes and hearing the songs from many different kind of birds. Your Tuk Tuk will wait to bring you back to Luang Namtha town.

What to bring
1 change of clothes, sandals for village, good shoes for hiking, sarong for bathing (required for women), mosquito repellent, flashlight, sunscreen/hat, optional (money to purchase handicrafts, camera, cotton sleeping sheet or sleeping bag)

- Do not give individual gifts of sweets or money to children.
- Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
- Ask your guide before entering a house or a room inside a house.

- Please purchase handicrafts but do not purchase antiques.
