Short description:
From the Tourist Information Office it is a 15 minutes drive by Tuktuk to the boat landing along the Nam Tha River . The boat is open (i.e. no roof) and can take up to 8 people . It is important to be prepared for the elements by putting your valuables in plastic bags and wearing appropriate clothing to protect you from the sun and rain. Your guide will explain you about the minority people along the river. You will stop and take a short walk at some villages, close to the riverbank. If you are lucky, you might see some wild animals when you pass the dense forest of the NPA (Namha Protected Area). In Ban Sopsim, the boat will turn around and returns the same way back to Luang Namtha.
